Things I've Crocheted Recently

I haven't been doing a lot of crochet recently, but I have done a little so here are my recent projects.

Four sets of coasters that I made for a Round Robin type swap (called the Coaster Race #1) at Crochet Swap Buddies.

A wedding ring square that I made. There is a Bride square too, that i haven't finished yet and have misplaced. Ooops!

I have some other projects in the works and will post pics of those as soon as I get them completed.

Recent Projects

Here's pics of my recent crochet projects.

a baby bib I made as part of a wish for a lady on the Amigurmumi Swaps and More yahoo group.

This bunting baby doll was another piece of the wish I granted.

This one is a cupcake that I made as a pincushion for a Pincushion swap at Swapaholic Crocheters.

And last, but not least, we have the most famous fairy of them all, Tinkerbell. which I made to grant a wish for someone at Crochet_Swaps_Galore.

Too Many "Gone Too Soon"

It seems to be the year of death. 2009 sucks.

My son, Guy was killed on Jan. 9th, 2009. This is something that I will never get over and there is more about this on my older blog.

Then last week, I got on the internet and read that Farrah Fawcett had died. I remember watching her on Charlie's Angels and the movies that she starred in. It made my heart sad that she is gone.

Then later that same day, I saw the announcement that Micheal Jackson had died. My first reaction was "What the %&*#?! I've been a Michael Jackson fan since the Jackson 5 exploded onto the music scene when I was a kid.

There is no other performer like Michael Jackson and I dare say there may well never be another with his talent and charisma. I've watched several of the TV specials about Michael through misty eyes and and overwhelming sadness that the King of Pop is "gone too soon".
"Thank you, Michael for the music and magic that only you could give. You will be greatly missed."

Then, I found out last Saturday, that a friend and teacher lost her battle with cancer the day before. I know that it was time, she'd been battling this for a while, and that now she's not in pain, but still her loss saddens me. "Carol, may your spirit soar. You will be missed."

My heart has been very heavy this past week with the news of the recent losses. Yeah 2009 sucks!
